Alexander Povetkin ile Wladimir Klitschko arasında 13 Aralık’ta oynanacak IBF ve WBO ağır siklet dünya şampiyonluğu maçına 2 aydan az bir zaman kalmışken, Povetkin cephesinden kötü bir haber geldi.
Alexander Povetkin, Rusya’da Kursk şehrinde açık hava idmanında çalışırken, sol ayağını sakatladı. Yapılan teşhis sonucu, Povetkin’in sol ayağında doku yırtıkları meydana gelirken bir Sauerland yetkilisi, Povetkin’in Kasım sonuna kadar antrenman yapamayacağını, maçın ise 2009′un ancak ilk çeyreğinde oynanabileceğini ifade etti.
